Bringing the Taste of Home to Dearborn. For Ali Soueidan, the journey to Wood’s Bakery began long before the first mankoushe came out of the oven. Born in Lebanon, Ali grew up surrounded by the rich, aromatic tapestry of Lebanese bakeries and “snack” shops—the bustling spots where families gathered for a quick bite, the scent of freshly baked manakish filled the air, and the spit of a shawarma was a landmark in itself. It was a feeling of community as much as it was a love for food.
